The Gresham Block

We wanted to share a few things about the Gresham Block as it's demolition has now occurred. Currently, the ICA board is looking into what happened and what actions concerning heritage and development might be pursued into the future to avoid losses on our historic main street. Below you will find a release from the City of Calgary sent out prior to demolition (which was approved after the release) answering questions about heritage status, legal protections, and commemoration of the Gresham block.

The fantastic piece by Manfred Baum and Harry Saunders published in our May/June edition of the newsletter which covers more of the building history.

We are also linking the Livewire Calgary article about the demolition which includes comment from our Councillor and former Inglewood BIA director. Click here for the article.
