Pearce Estate Parking Lot Project

A recent communication from the City of Calgary concerning a proposed additional parking lot at Pearce Estate Park:

Good Afternoon, The City of Calgary is planning to expand parking at Pearce Estate Park to help accommodate the busy summer months. This expansion is a recommendation in the Harvie Passage Facility Enhancement Plan. The expansion aims to increase parking and reduce traffic congestion while minimizing the impact on local residents. We identified an area of City-owned parcels south of the existing parking lot between the alleyway off of 17a Street S.E. and the CP Rail track as a site for additional parking. Park users often treat this as area as overflow parking and developing the space into a proper extension of the current lot will improve the safety, capacity and environmental performance of the Pearce Estate parking area. We will be holding a drop-in open house for homes and businesses located nearby on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Bow Habitat Station lobby. Attendees will be able to learn more about the expansion plans from the project team and will be invited to give feedback on their preference about the two different design options. We are having door hangers (please see attached) delivered tomorrow to advise/invite these residents and businesses to the open house. Anyone unable to attend the open house will be invited to share questions or comments with the project team at engage@calgary.ca or by contacting 311. From July 7, project info will also be provided online for comment at engage.calgary.ca/pearceestateparking. The full timeline for the project is still be determined, however we currently expect construction to begin in spring 2026 and to open the new parking lot by the end of June 2026.

The attached information (same as written above) is available here.
