Inglewood has seen a lot of development interest over the past years, however nothing like what we experience this year.
Between the proposed Rail Yards development, the new LRT Station, a new Fire Station and a couple of Hungerford towers, the Inglewood populations is bound to double over the course of the next three to ten years, context commanding our collective attention. The following development applications with wide impact are proposed this month and you are invited to provide your opinion. 1. LOC2022-0064 - Hungerford Properties (part of the Rail Yards development) Address: 1401 17 Ave SE Proposed: Land Use Amendment to accommodate MU-1 (Mixed Use - General District), a change from I-E (Industrial Edge District) I-E is an industrial designation that allows a limited range of low impact light industrial uses that are suitable in close proximity to residential areas. The MU-1 district is for commercial and residential uses in street-oriented buildings. The district allows both commercial and residential uses at street level. LOC2022-0129 Inglewood Station Address: 1204 11 AV SE, 1210 11 AV SE, 1212 11 AV SE, 1216 11 AV SE Proposed: A land use change from Commercial - Corridor 2 District (C-COR2), to Mixed Use - General District, (MU-1) The MU-1 district is for commercial and residential uses in street-oriented buildings. The district allows both commercial and residential uses at street level. C-COR2 is a commercial corridor designation that is primarily for commercial or mixed use development of varied height. Residential units are allowed on upper floors of buildings.
