I attended another meeting at the airport to go over more details of the environmental impact of the parallel runway, planned to start in 2014. The scoping document will take two years to complete before they decide whether to go ahead. The details of that document and a map can be viewed at www.calgaryairport.com

The runway will take two years to build before it is in operation, if they decide to go ahead with it. This seems very likely as this has been in the scope of development since 1977.

The deadline for any concerns was the end of June, but if you do have anything major to add you can call 403-717-2220 and they will try and address your issue.

N.B. I am looking for anyone interested in following this through to 2015 and then a further study goes on to 2025. This involves approximately four meetings a year. Call me if you are interested at 403-254-1999.

The next meeting will be in September 2009 unless one is called earlier.
